"There is light in the darkness, you just have to find it." - Bell Hooks
I consider myself a gentle soul, with a natural leaning towards helping others. I have extensive experience in this area with my work within education as a mentor and teacher, where I offered help, support and compassion to children, adolescents and parent(s)/carer(s). I know from experience how challenging it can be to seek support for mental health and the perception this has, but I also know how transformative it can be once you have taken the first step. As your therapist and counsellor, I will offer you a calm and welcoming space where you can speak freely and without judgement. I will provide you with unconditional care and consider your needs with empathy, so that our conversation becomes felt.
Over time and at your pace, I hope that in time you will be comfortable enough to explore some of the difficulties you face.
I appreciate and understand how trauma can impact and shape our relationships with ourselves, and other people and our experience of the world around us. I am passionate about serving my community and providing mental health support
which is much needed. For some men, the idea of reaching out for help is just too difficult. But my life experience of growing up within a diverse community means that I am passionate about equality and inclusion. I will always offer you my authentic self and in doing so be the therapist and counsellor you need within a demanding world.
As your therapist and counsellor, my approach is to ensure your well-being and healing is central to each session, so that you can reflect safely and in time bring about a sense of renewal and growth.
I am a person-centred (humanistic) therapist and counsellor working with adults, children, and young people. I am a registered and accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Acc.d).
Areas I work with:
My natural way of engaging with others is the ideal match for the therapeutic approach I offer. I am a person-centred, humanistic, and integrative therapist and counsellor. Each approach places you at the centre of the session. As your therapist and counsellor, I will walk with you on your journey of self-discovery. I will calmly and safely work at your pace, in step with each aspect of your experience as you present them in the session, working in partnership with you, as you embark upon reflecting and resolving the difficulties that have arisen or returned. Our work together will be private and confidential.
Person-centred counselling is based on the unique connection between each of us; the need for human connection at a deeper level, where internal and difficult conversation occurs, resulting in shifts in our thoughts with the aim of arriving at a place of understanding and renewal. Person-centred counselling heals the inner soul
My approach to counselling and therapy is underpinned with two decades of experiences of supporting children and adolescents across a variety of settings: community, educational, and local authority. I am aware of the immense pressure young people face daily - from the world around them or as they try to gain a sense of who they are. I realise they all deserve to be offered care and dedicated time where they can process their thoughts without interruption.
As a children and young person therapist, each young person I offer a safe and supportive space of non-judgment which will encourage children to reflect and share their story, emotions and thoughts so they can move toward feeling better within themselves.
Mental health support is now regarded as an essential element of the increased sense of worth and well-being.

Mental health stigma can be a barrier to seeking out therapy and counselling or help. But courageous group conversations give people a sense of connection with others, and the freedom to share and reflect in a safe space without judgment.
From my experience of working and supporting fathers, male carers and guardian,
and my own experience of being a dad, I know how valuable these spaces are.
I will only break confidentiality if there is a risk of harm to you or others, or if required by law.
